Adventure, Nature, and Community in Collier County

Building the Paradise Coast Trail – A network of paved, separated trails spanning across

Southwest Florida to connect with two regional trail systems:

the Florida Gulf Coast Trail and the Collier to Polk Trail.

A Vision for Connectivity and Community

A lifeline connecting Naples to Bonita Springs, SOUTH NAPLES, MARCO ISLAND, AVE MARIA, IMMOKALEE AND BEYOND.

Across the state, many communities have been enjoying paved, connected, off-road trails and multi-modal pathways, yet Naples has remained an outlier. While popular, our beloved Gordon River Greenway and Rich King Memorial Greenway are limited in scope and connectivity. Enter the Paradise Coast Trail – which will weave a network of safe, multi-modal pathways throughout Southwest Florida, enhancing safety for people to walk their dogs, ride a bike, or take a run without fear of motorists.

The Paradise Coast Trail isn’t just a trail; it’s a lifeline connecting communities. Envision a separate-from-the-road pathway system that not only enhances transportation but also boosts health, lowers our carbon footprint, and lets everyone experience the unique beauty of the Paradise Coast from outside a vehicle. This trail is set to redefine our quality of life, sparking healthier lifestyles, lifting property values, and ensuring safety for all who walk, run, or bike.

And even more exciting, our Paradise Coast Trail will become part of two larger trail systems. The Florida Gulf Coast Trail will meander 420 miles through seven coastal counties from Collier Seminole State Park past Tampa. The Collier to Polk Trail will provide 220 miles of exploration through the center of the state on bike or foot from Marco Island and Everglades City through a beautiful nature corridor past Lakeland.

This scenic trail invites residents and visitors alike to embrace outdoor activities like walking, biking, and running, nurturing a healthier, more active lifestyle amidst the natural beauty of Southwest Florida.

Strengthening Community Connections

The Paradise Coast Trail is more than just a pathway; it’s a community builder. It offers a unique space for locals and tourists to come together, share experiences, and foster a sense of community. Whether it’s family outings, group rides, or solo adventures, the trail is a melting pot of connections and shared stories.

Enhancing Environmental Consciousness

Embark on a journey that not only connects you to nature but also instills a deeper appreciation for our environment. The Paradise Coast Trail is a testament to sustainable living, encouraging eco-friendly transportation and offering a serene escape into nature, thereby deepening our commitment to preserving the natural world around us.

“The benefits of trails like the Paradise Coast Trail extend beyond health and recreation. Documented studies show trails like ours can contribute millions to the regional economy and create significant job opportunities, outpacing other transportation projects in employment impact.”

Partnerships Paving the Way

Our journey to reality is supported by key partners like Rails to Trails Conservancy and Kimley-Horn. Recognized as a Priority Trail by Rails to Trails and backed by a comprehensive Feasibility Study, the Paradise Coast Trail is moving from a dream to a tangible path under our feet. Momentum and Milestones

The support for the Paradise Coast Trail has been phenomenal. With the Collier County Metropolitan Planning Organization’s endorsement and funding from the state, we’re making great strides. Notably, our proactive approach has already cut five years from the typical planning timeline. This progress reflects the broad community support we’ve garnered, including vital contributions from Collier County and the City of Naples.
