The Naples Airport Authority is proud to continue its years long partnership with the Naples Pathways Coalition, a collaboration that will continue to benefit the airport and community.
Through another partnership that began decades ago with the Southwest Florida Land Preservation Trust, the NAA is proud to have dedicated a portion of airport property to conservation efforts, accommodating the Gordon River Greenway. This initiative is a testament to the NAA’s commitment to environmental stewardship and community well-being.
The Gordon River Greenway offers an escape from urban life while still being inside the city, providing a safe and scenic path for walkers and cyclists to enjoy nature without the risk of vehicle traffic. This area not only enhances the quality of life for residents and visitors but also prevents further development, protects critical airspace, and preserves the natural landscape. As the work of the Trust concludes, the NAA will continue to preserve and maintain portions of the Gordon River Greenway on airport property. The maintenance of this property by the NAA comes at no cost to City or County taxpayers.
Chris Rozansky, Executive Director of the Naples Airport Authority, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership: “We are proud of our ongoing collaboration with the Naples Pathways Coalition. By dedicating a portion of our property to the Gordon River Greenway, we are not only enhancing public access to outdoor spaces but also ensuring that future generations can enjoy this beautiful environment while advancing the NAA’s mission to provide a safe and efficient airport. We look forward to continuing this important work and expanding pathways that connect our community in meaningful ways.”
As the NAA continues its partnership with the Naples Pathways Coalition, we look forward to collaborating on ways to expanding the trail system throughout Collier County, including along airport property. These efforts will provide even more opportunities for outdoor recreation while further enhancing connectivity within our community. Our shared passion and dedication have helped ensure the success and growth of the Collier County trail system, and we are grateful for their continued support.
